Why Hermitage House?

Hermitage House is proud to be a part of the Independent Examinations Board (IEB), ensuring our educational standards are among the best. To measure our progress and maintain excellence, we administer annual international benchmark tests from Grade 3 to Grade 7. Additionally, our Grade 7 students take an external high school readiness assessment to prepare them for the next stage of their academic journey.

We are also a member of the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA). ISASA is a network of independent schools committed to quality education and continuous improvement. As members, we benefit from shared best practices, professional development opportunities for our teachers, and a collective commitment to maintaining high educational standards. This affiliation enhances our ability to provide a top-tier education and ensures that our students are well-prepared for their future academic endeavors.

Moreover, Hermitage House is a registered Google School. This designation allows us to integrate cutting-edge technology into our curriculum, providing students with access to Google’s suite of educational tools. This not only enhances learning but also prepares our students for a tech-savvy future in an increasingly digital world.

At Hermitage House, thinking skills are central to our approach to learning. Our highly qualified and committed team of teachers shapes our academic curriculum to develop each pupil's ability to think individually, collectively, analytically, and creatively. We have also introduced a Coding and Robotics program in 2024, aimed at enhancing problem-solving abilities and technological literacy among our students. By integrating robotics and coding into our curriculum, we equip our students with practical skills that are essential for navigating and succeeding in an ever-evolving world.

By fostering these critical thinking skills alongside technological proficiency, we empower our students to tackle challenges with confidence and adaptability, preparing them to excel in a rapidly changing global landscape.
