In the Foundation Phase, our approach ensures that each teacher is dedicated to a specific grade. This allows them to know each learner on a very personal level and to address each child’s unique needs effectively. By building these strong relationships, we create a supportive and individualized learning environment.
Auxiliary subjects such as Art and Physical Education are taught by some of our Intermediate Phase teachers. This strategy helps ease the transition for students as they move into the next phase of their education, providing continuity and familiar faces that contribute to a smoother progression in their academic journey.

In the Intermediate Phase at Hermitage House, our teachers specialise in specific subjects across various grades. While they bring expert knowledge to their specialist subjects, they also serve as the primary register/tutor for a particular group of students.
In addition to their specialist subjects, these teachers often teach Social Science and other Life Skills subjects to their tutor groups. This dual role allows teachers to build strong, supportive relationships with their students, ensuring a holistic and well-rounded educational experience.
